This Tuesday, March 31st at 7pm, a special screening of the “Last Flight Home” film will be held at the Peppers.TV studios in the Mather Commerce Center (formerly Mather AFB, Rancho Cordova area, off Hiway 50).
Seating is limited to 100.  Those wishing to attend should email Jennifer Powers at jpowers@bentstarproject.org to reserve a seat or call if email is not an option:  (530)741-2376.  There is no charge.  The video will be made available for purchase at the screening.
Proceeds will help cover cost of future and past expeditions.

This documentary is the story of Dr. Patrick Scannon’s work searching for and finding missing World War II aircraft and the MIAs associated with them in Palau. The ferocious battleground nearly forgotten by history is where more than 200 US aircraft went down, on and around the islands.  Nearly half of the crew members are listed as Missing In Action.
Local producer Jennifer Powers, BentProp Project  (a non-profit organization), will be at the screening to answer questions about the incredible effort by the film crew and “explorers” during their eight years and nine expeditions to Palau.  The most touching part of the film happens when the families in the US are contacted and shown footage of the remains of the plane flown by their loved one. Scannon’s small team of self funded private citizens have taken on the task of notifying relatives of the deceased, simply as a way of thanking the MIAs and their families for the sacrifices made decades ago.
This March 31st screening is a celebration of the most recent positive identification of a B-24 seen in the film.  Tommy Doyle joined the expedition to dive on his father’s crash site.  Earlier this month Doyle received news at the 4th DoD POW/MIA Family Update in Albuquerque, NM that the plane he touched was positively identified as that of his father.
This film is evidence that our soldiers and those listed as MIA are never forgotten.  News media is invited to attend and conduct interviews with guests and the producers.
Sue Peppers, President of Peppers.TV is donating the use of her production facility for the screening of this film.  The building is fully wheelchair accessible.  The Peppers.TV web site is www.peppers.tv.  Directions can be found under “contacts”.
